Technical Support

We want to ensure our online students have the same support available to them as students on campus. You can register for classes online and access unlimited digital study materials from Blake Library.

Before you begin your online education with UMFK, you’ll need regular access to a computer that has broadband internet service with a minimum of 1 gigabyte of RAM or a Macintosh computer running OS X. Installed software should include a web browser, word processor, Windows Media Player, and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Other software may be required by some courses. The UMFK tech support team is available if you run into any technical complications.

Ordering textbooks for your UMFK online courses is simple. Required materials can be found at our virtual bookstore by entering the course name. You can even use this link to sell back your books when you’re finished!

Financial Aid

Your education is a major investment. That’s why the University of Maine at Fort Kent offers a variety of financial resources to help offset your educational costs. A large portion of UMFK students receive some form of aid each year.

Navigating the financial aid process can sometimes be challenging. We’re here to answer your questions and to help you make better decisions about your future. Start your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after applying to UMFK. With this one application, you’ll automatically be considered for most types of aid.

Then, check your UMFK email account regularly for financial aid notifications, including requests for additional or missing information. This list of financial aid basics will assist you with sources of aid available.

For more information, you can email the Office of Financial Aid or call 207-834-7605 during regular business hours.

Support for Veterans and Military-Connected Personnel

UMFK thanks you for your service to our country, and we are proud and honored to serve you in return. With our small class sizes, personal attention, and numerous online programs, UMFK is a great place for you to launch into a successful career outside of the military.

If you’re a veteran and seeking funds through the VA, you will need to complete our Veteran Request for Certification form, located in the UMFK portal, before the start of each semester. Please visit UMFK’s Veteran and Military Students information hub for more details.
